Overview of Tracking Assessment Levels and Awards

 

1. Foundation Level - Foundation Tracking Dog; The first Tracking Assessment. No pre-requisites for entry other than preparedness and adherence to the Regulations as outlined in this document

2. Level One - Novice Tracking Dog; The first Tracking Assessment. No pre-requisites for entry other than preparedness and adherence to the Regulations as outlined in this document.

 

3. Level Two - Intermediate Tracking Dog; To enter this Tracking Assessment the dog must already hold ONE Novice Tracking Dog award.

 

4. Level Three - Expert Tracking Dog; To enter this Tracking Assessment the dog must already hold TWO Intermediate Tracking Dog awards.

 

After successful completion of THREE "Expert Tracking Dog" Assessments the dog will be awarded the title of

"Qualified UK Tracking Dog"

 

5. Level Four - Mixed Terrain Tracking Dog; To enter this Tracking Assessment the dog must already hold THREE Expert Tracking Dog awards (Qualified UK Tracking Dog).

 

5. Level Four - Wilderness Pursuit Tracking Dog; To enter this Tracking Assessment the dog must already hold THREE Expert Tracking Dog Awards (Qualified UK Tracking Dog).

 

NB; Handler's may enter their dogs for the Mixed Terrain and Wilderness Pursuit Tracking Dog Assessments in any order. The only requirement is that, in both cases, the dog must have achieved the "Qualified UK Tracking Dog" award before entry.
